I learn to fall

And I fell

And was so broken

It was messy

Bloody, wet with tears

But most of all

It hurts

 

But I embrace the pain

I held its hand like a dear friend

Tiny, squishy, jumpy friend

A friend who will go away

My friend

 

You can’t lose something you don’t own, can you?

 

After the fall, the only way is up

And I shall rise

Stronger

Wiser

Because I have learned

Because I have loved

 

And my heart will love again

As much as it can carry

So much it will blind your eyes

So much that I’m satisfied
